Senate Bill 1863

Recently the legislature signed Senate Bill 1863 into law.  This new bill requires counties with a population greater than 50,000 to have a delinquent collections solution in place. See Senate Bill 1863

Attorney General Opinion # GA-0147

Recently the Attorney General offered an opinion regarding the collection of Fines, Fees and Court Costs when part of the total is accepted.

Senate Bill 782

Legislature widens scope of delinquent cases with the addition of Senate Bill 782.  As of June 18th, 2003 any case with an offense commission date on or after June 18th, 2003 is eligible for delinquent collections without adjudication.

  Should you hire staff?

There are limits to what court staff can effectively do in the course of a day.  There are also limits to resources that they will have available to them.   This does not include the salary that it would cost to staff such a position.
